Research in medical dosimetry for advanced radiotherapy:

• Dosimetry in kV X-rays and small fields
• Microdosimetry

Nuclear decommissioning:

• The research focusses on the mapping/characterisation of radiological contaminated surfaces in the initial stages of Nuclear Decommissioning via robots and light weight radiological probes (CZT) or a gamma camera (timepix-3).
• The radiological risks are visualised in a Virtual Reality (VR) training environment for radiation protection training of workers during nuclear decommissioning

Nuclear waste:

• The research focusses on the immobilisation of solid and liquid radioactive wastes using new types of cementitious binders (alkali activated materials).

• Reuse of NORM in new types of cementitous binders (Inorganic polymers, Alkali Activated Materials, Geopolymers,...) and concretes
• Safe management of NORM from specific industries (geothermal energy, phosphate industry,...)
• Radiological and chemical analysis of NORM residues and construction materials:
  • Gamma spectroscopic analysis
  • Radiological and chemical leaching analysis
  • Radon exhalation/emanation analysis
