Hi, you found one of our experiments. Welcome!
What you are looking at right now is a special kind of long exposure camera that uses the trails of the sun in the sky to form an image [1]. Don't worry, if you are just passing by your face won't be visible in the produced image.
The goal of this experiment is to capture the surroundings in an image only using the light of the sun. The following set-up was employed. A piece of photosensitive paper is placed within each soda can. A small hole, a pinhole, on the opposite side of the soda can allows sunlight to enter [2]. Trough the effect of light projection the same result as in a camera obscura is achieved [1]. An inverted image of the tracks of the sun and the surroundings that reflect the sunlight into the pinhole will be visible on the photosensitive paper. If the device is in the exact same place for long enough an imprint will be formed.
