The Maria Hospital is a modern hospital with 348 beds.
The medical support system covers almost all specialisms and numerous subspecialties.
The hospital wants to be a highly valued hospital within the region because of its patient-oriented work ethics.
Within the rehabilitation department two groups can be distinguished:
Physical rehabilitation. The aim of physical rehabilitation is to help people who, as a result of an illness or trauma, are limited in their skills or functioning. The object is to improve functionality by including techniques like physical exercises and respiratory physiotherapy.
Rehabilitation of the geriatric population. Treatment forms include functional therapy, neuropsychic therapy consisting of relaxation and movement and group therapy.

Registration before start internship
Registration before start internship
To be able to start your internship in a hospital or other facility of Noorderhart Maria Ziekenhuis, you need to register minimum 14 days before the start of your internship.
This is necessary for the processing of all student information and manufacturing of a student ID linked to your placement.
Students that are not (correctly) registered, can not start their placement!
The registration is in Dutch and takes some time. Be sure to make an appointment with your internship supervisor (UHasselt) in due time.
