This webinar is organized by the European IP Helpdesk for early career researchers. More information can also be found via this link.
The aim of this webinar is to create awareness of, and to build confidence in, applying the laws of IP to the culture of Open Science, and vice versa. The webinar will show that there is no conflict between IP and Open Science, but on the other hand, “open” does not mean “no IP issues”, nor “free for commercial use”. We will explore the concept of “openness” in its various forms and show how the IP system fits with the essence of OS. We will show examples of how the sharing of IP, data, and publications, can be as open as possible, but closed when necessary.
