From 9 to 13 February 2026, several partners of the Flemish Research Data Network will participate in Love Data Week. This annual event, held around Valentine’s Day, brings together research organizations worldwide to celebrate data and to promote responsible research data management (RDM).
This year’s theme is “Where’s the Data?” We’ll explore the full journey of data — from planning and collection to storing, sharing, publication, long-term preservation, and reuse.
It’s a great opportunity for researchers, data stewards, data curators, RDM/Open Science coordinators, and library staff to dive into data ethics, strengthen data literacy, and share best practices to promote transparent and FAIR research data management and Open Data.
Most sessions will be held online, so you can join us from anywhere! Our full programme will be available soon on this page.
Complementary to the online programme, UHasselt will host a live, interactive session for researchers on Tuesday morning, 10 February. The LDW theme “Where’s the data?” aligns closely with UHasselt’s ongoing efforts to strengthen sustainable research data management across faculties and research institutes.
The live session builds on the successful RDM 101 workshop organized during the previous Research Day: expert-led discussion tables will be organized around specific research data management topics. These topics include data storage, data sharing, research software, electronic lab notebooks (ELNs), and the Flemish Supercomputer Center (VSC). Researchers can join one or more tables of their interest to obtain targeted information, discuss specific questions, and exchange experiences related to research data management.
Curious about where your research data should be stored but not able to join our live event? Check out the UHasselt storage guide via this link.
