Generally, paid versions offer greater security than free ones; however, even in paid versions, it’s advisable not to enter highly sensitive or personal information.

    Data is protected under Google Workplace NDA if you log in with your UHasselt account

  • ChatGPT - paid version
    Opt out possible in the free version to avoid your data being used for training, this will happen automatically in the payed version. 

  • Claude - free and paid version
    Your data is not used to train the model, even in the free version (this is opt in). Conversations can be deleted manually.

  • MS Copilot Pro - only paid version
    Data is protected under Microsoft Enterprise NDA. Can only be done if your UHasselt account has a Microsoft license.  
  • MS 365 Copilot - only paid version
    Additional paid functionality on top of MS Copilot Pro, adds Copilot in Office and Teams. Can only be done if your UHasselt account has an additional Microsoft license.

Be careful with these tools:

  • ChatGPT - free version

  • Deepseek - only free version
    Open source license, can be used both online and offline in a proprietary installation. Several Western countries question privacy and data security.

AI tools for meetings, transcription and documentation

Do not give transcription or meeting tools access to your account and always ask permission from participants. Some tools interpret emotions, tone or engagement, which is not always accurate or desirable. Also be aware that addition of these types of tools to a meeting can influence participants' behaviour.
