2026-10-07: New -CINAHL Ultimate, comprehensive database for nursing and healthcare

The University Library now provides institutional access to CINAHL Ultimate, the most comprehensive version within the CINAHL family. The database is an important resource for research and teaching in nursing, healthcare and related disciplines.

CINAHL Ultimate provides access to an extensive collection of specialist literature, including:

• 1,892 active full-text journals and magazines;
• 1,717 peer-reviewed journals;
• 1,416 peer-reviewed journals without an embargo;
• 1,027 active full-text journals indexed in Web of Science and/or Scopus;
• content covering more than 50 nursing specialties.

In addition to scholarly journal articles, CINAHL Ultimate also includes evidence-based care sheets, Quick Lessons and other research-oriented resources. This makes the database particularly useful for both targeted literature searches and more extensive searches, for example in the context of reviews.

UHasselt students and staff can access CINAHL Ultimate:

• via the Discovery Service;
• or directly via CINAHL Ultimate.
