What's in a name?
U-RISE stands for UHasselt Research on Innovative and Society-engaged Education. Our research is aimed at helping youngsters and teachers to rise, to grow, to learn… U-RISE is embedded within the School of Educational Studies.

Mission statement
Anchored in Limburg and with a global perspective, U-RISE conducts practice-relevant scientific research into innovative and society-engaged education for every learner to flourish. Our research is rooted in various fields of expertise and is conducted in co-creation and connection with all stakeholders.
Vision statement
We aim to inspire school teams to provide evidence-informed and responsive education, enabling all learners to develop their full potential. We network with schools to mutually strengthen educational practice and science. In open dialogue, U-RISE offers nuanced solutions to complex educational issues. U-RISE is committed to co-create a sustainable and inclusive society.
