DMP writing session (March)

18 March 2027
(2h)
campus Diepenbeek

Content

Each starting researcher has to deliver an "initial DMP" (data management plan) within 6 months after the project approval, and a "final DMP" at the end of the research project. Do you need to submit a DMP but still have (many) questions about it? Then join one of our DMP writing sessions.

During this session, you will receive a live demonstration of the DMPonline platform and then begin drafting your own DMP. The aim is to start, fine-tune and/or finalize your DMP while you can count on live guidance from the RDM support team. We do not provide a theoretical explanation but only address questions from the participants. For a theoretical explanation of the DMP, we refer you to the course RDM Essentials (RDM training calendar).

Cannot make it? Consult our DMP guide to help you get started, or book an appointment with your RDM steward.

Learning outcomes

After attending this training, participants can ...

  • start drafting a Data Management Plan (DMP) by selecting the appropriate funder template (in DMPonline) and completing the relevant sections;
  • describe data collection, documentation, storage, sharing, and long-term preservation practices for their own research project;
  • use the available guidance documents and support from the RDM team to improve the quality and completeness of their DMP.

Competences

An important part of preparing for any further professional step is becoming (more) aware of the competences you have developed and/or want to develop. In the current workshop, the following competences from the UHasselt competency overview are actively dealt with:

  • Cluster "information"
    • Analysing
    • Judgement
  • Cluster “problem-solving”
    • Taking initiative
