On Friday 21 November, contractors will begin finishing the windows of the University Library. During this phase, MDF panels will be installed, which may cause some noise in the reading room. The reading room will remain open, but additional study spaces are available in rooms B1 and B2.
Starting Monday, October 20, the Campus Library will open half an hour earlier at 8:00 a.m. instead of 8:30 a.m.
The University Library now provides access to Mathematics Source, a specialized database featuring publications on topics such as algebra, geometry, number theory, probability, and statistics.
Access to Statista will end on Friday, 10 October 2025, and will not be renewed. From that date onwards, the platform will no longer be available via the University Library.
During the month of August, renovation work will take place above the library. These works will cause noise, which may temporarily make studying in the library more difficult. To provide students with a quieter study environment during the resit examination period, alternative study rooms have been reserved.
The Ebook Central Reader App has replaced Adobe Digital Editions for full-book downloads. To read offline, install the app on up to six devices. Existing ebook loans will sync automatically.
The full text from 1998 onwards of 17 renowned peer-reviewed journals on operational research, decision analysis, analytics, and much more is now available in Business Source Complete.
As of January 1, 2025, the Read & Green Program of ACS (American Chemical Society) has come into effect. In this context, Hasselt University now applies the policy that all author versions of ACS publications with a corresponding author from Hasselt University are made available without embargo by default.
From now on, UHasselt provides access to EBSCO SocIndex with Full Text, a comprehensive database for sociological research, and SpringerProtocols, a database offering detailed protocols for experimental research in the (bio)medical sciences.
UHasselt University Library now offers early access to JSTOR's interactive research tool, leveraging AI to enhance discovery and streamline research. This tool highlights key points in texts, facilitates exploration of JSTOR’s vast collection, and supports intuitive, conversational searches.
As of 1 April 2024 students and faculty of Hasselt University have access to the full online journal portfolio (some 420 titles) published by Cambridge University Press.
As of 28 March the University Library offers on and off campus access to 18 law related titles from the Oxford University Press Very Short Introductions collection.
