Specifications

The JEM-1400Flash is a compact and user-friendly TEM, largely recognized for high-resolution imaging and analysis, as well as its ease of use. To smoothly transition from low to high magnification and acquire higher-throughput image data, the JEM-1400Flash has an integrated high-sensitivity sCMOS camera and an ultra-wide area montage system.

  • LaB6 filament
  • Accelerating voltage 10 - 120 kV
  • Magnification x10 to x 1,200,000
  • High sensitivity "Matataki Flash" sCMOS camera
    • 2,048 x 2,048 pixels
    • 21.7 x 21.7 µm² effective pixel size
    • up to 30 frames per second (unbinned)
    • 16 bit
  • EMSIS XAROSA 20MP Camera
    • 5,120 x 3,840 pixels
    • 13 x 13 µm² effective pixel size
    • up to 30 frames per second (unbinned)
  • Selection of holders (single, tilt +/- 70°, quartet, rotation)

Correlative Light Electron Microscopy (CLEM)

For CLEM, a digital image acquired with an optical microscope can be overlaid on a TEM image. This technique combines spatiotemporal information from a fluorescence/confocal microscope with high-resolution structural data from TEM. Hence, CLEM combines functional information with ultrastructural information to gain in-depth knowledge on a subcellular and molecular level.

  • Correlative light and electron microscopy software (CLEM) installed to combine confocal images with TEM.
  • Cryo Transfer holder single-tilt
  • Cryo work station and temperature controller.

Sample Preparation Services

we offer sample preparation services for a wide range of TEM applications. Please contact us to discuss which methods are best suited for your project.

  • Conventional TEM sample processing using resin embedding and ultrathin sectioning
  • High pressure freezing & cryosubstitution for cryo-TEM as a tool for preserving high-quality ultrastructure and immunoreactivity, without prior fixation.
